In terms of what blockchain has the right balance in fees for the *long term*, I don't think there is any way to tell currently. Global adoption means trillions in $ traded daily. No blockchain is currently ready to withstand that massive volume, so don't think it is possible to know what the right balance is for fee rate in the future.
