Introduction
Hi all, and welcome to the first edition of The Average Joe’s Crypto! This post will be unique compared to all other future posts, as this post will try to give you a brief run down of what The Average Joe’s Crypto is and our future expectations. Since the goal of this newsletter is to present to you complex info in an easy to understand matter, let’s get right in to it!
What our Purpose is
Cryptocurrency will change the way you live your life. Wait, what? Yes, that’s right! And we don’t just mean change your life financially because of successful investments. We mean that cryptocurrency, blockchains, and other crypto-associated technologies will change the framework in which our economy and society operate. The forthcoming crypto revolution is just getting started and will change how we live in unimaginable ways. Just as the internet forever changed society in the 90s through the 2010s, cryptocurrency brings us the next evolution of the web, Web 3.0.
Skeptical, right? No problem. We were once where you are right now. Unsure of this whole “Bitcoin thing.” Asking yourself “What in the hell is Web 3.0?” Hopefully, we can week-by-week teach and explain what these concepts are, how they apply to you, and how you can take advantage of them! The crypto revolution is coming. In fact, it has already started. Luckily for us, we are still in the extremely early stages. Take a look at these two graphs:

As you can see, you are early. Oh yeah, and that’s just Bitcoin, the most popular and widely known of the cryptocurrencies. What about other projects such as Ethereum? Chainlink? Polkadot? Algorand? Cardano? You get the point.
Now obviously, a lot of this stuff is probably flying over you head right now. That’s fine. If there’s two things you take away from this, let it be: 1) Crypto will have an important role in the present and future. 2) You are still early
Additionally, The Average Joe’s Crypto will be one of your guides into interacting with this Web 3.0. This is the purpose of this newsletter. To take all this high level crypto news and knowledge and make it easy to understand and accessible to YOU!
Crypto is coming. There’s no stopping it. You can sit on the sidelines and watch as everything online changes around you. OR, you can take advantage of this once in a generation opportunity and financially benefit from it. The choice is yours, which will it be?
What to Expect From us
So now that you hopefully see why Crypto is so important, it is time to explain what this newsletter will do to help you!
Firstly, there is a constant stream of new information and news that enters the crypto space everyday. This, simply put, can be overwhelming. How do you separate what’s important from what’s junk? That is where The Average Joe’s Crypto steps in. Every Friday, a newsletter will be posted that goes over the most important info/news and explains it in simple terms. On top of that, we will discuss the price movements of the largest cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Chainlink, etc. And finally, our investment strategies will also be a staple of this newsletter. The best part? It’s free! The Average Joe’s Crypto will not charge you for the Friday newsletter!
In the future, a paid version of The Average Joe’s Crypto will launch. Don’t worry, the Friday newsletter is separate from the paid version. The exact details of the paid version have not been figured out yet, but the paid version will aim to be a more personalized newsletter with additional content to better satisfy the needs of paying customers.
More generally, don’t be afraid to ask questions about content that is in the Friday newsletter. If we go over a subject and you didn’t quite understand it, we’d be more than happy to explain it to you in different terms either through Twitter or on the Substack comment section!
Lastly, we just want to touch briefly upon what this newsletter won’t be. We will not be touching upon subjects such as What is a blockchain? Or other things like How do I set up a Coinbase account? Why won’t we be doing this? Well, there are plenty of other sources and websites out there that achieve this much better than we can. Eventually, we will post a free post of what we believe the best sources to be and aggregate them in one place for you.
Brief Example of a Future Post & Conclusion
You can expect the sections of the Friday newsletter to look a little something like this:
Weekly News: 3 Headlines to discuss
-L2 Solution Arbitrum Launches
-SEC Comments About Crypto Regulation
-El Salvador adopts Bitcoin as Currency
For each of those example headlines, we will break down what is going and how it affects you. Although these are example headlines, we may touch upon them in future newsletters!
Price Movements & The Market
-What did the crypto market do over the past week?
-Winners? Losers?
Wild Card Section:
This will be the section that changes the most on a week-to-week basis. The other two sections will be pretty rigid and you can more or less expect to see them in every edition. This section, on the other hand, will be reserved to talk about what ever we feel like talking about. We may talk about an exciting new DeFi opportunity (Don’t worry, we’ll explain what DeFi is in future editions) or keep it more light and talk about how professional sports teams can incorporate crypto into their operations. The possibilities for this section are endless!
